I had to withdraw the windows installer since I made a mistake when making the package. I have updated it, so from now you can download the correct installer again.
If you were so fast that you downloaded the RC of RawTherapee in the past few hours please be so kind and do it again.
I apologize,

RawTherapee V2.4 Release Candidate

The following fixes/additions have been made since the last beta:

crash on closing the progress dialog fixed
confusion when pp2 files of both the old and new naming convention found
less tall "Preferences" dialog to fit the small screen of netbooks
a new option in the "Save As" dialog: put to the head of the queue
fixed non-working image saving when path contains international characters
much fewer maze artifacts for Olympus raw files with hphd and ahd demosaicing methods
more keyboard shortcuts (see the popup menu in the file browser)
dcraw updated to 8.90/1.417
updated rawzor support (now for 64 bit linux version, too)

And one more important news: I managed to compile RT on Mac OSX (no X11 is required). The problem is that I do not know this operation system very well so I have to find out how to create an installer, or how to deploy the application on MAC. If you are an experienced osx developer please contact me, I need some help.

Beta Version released: 2.4beta2

Based on the bug reports of the users many annoying bugs have been discovered and fixed. There are still some more, but we think it's time to make beta 2 available for the public.
Bug fixes compared to beta1 are:

multiple thumbnails for the same image bug fixed
color propagation is back! However the luminance method is used instead in the file browser.
proper rights for the "converted" folder under linux
history panel cannot be resized after hide/restore fixed
send to editor now does not freeze if the app path in invalid
duplicate list of extensions in the preferences fixed (you have to delete your old options file!)
tiff and rw2 extensions added to the default list of extensions
color values under the mouse pointer are now correct
directory browser now does not forget its width
linear dng/canon sraw is now supported
IPTC data in nef files is now detected/parsed
several bugs fixed corresponding to the multiple selection in the file browser

Known issues (Several users have it but I can not reproduce them, please test it and post report to the forum if you found a reproducible scenario for these bugs):

some people reported crash when save/save-as is pressed
the preview zoom does not work properly (e.g. fit zoom)
still no solution on the library dependency problems under older linux distributions

Beta Version released: 2.4beta1

The development team is happy to announce the beta version of RawTherapee 2.4. The aim of this release is to give possibility to the users to test and report back problems and bugs. Translators can start translating new language strings to make RawTherapee as multi-lingual as possible.
We hope to have a short beta cycle and try to release the final
version as soon as possible. There are many-many changes under the hood. We have all the major building blocks done, so -- for the next version -- we can start a new, workflow-oriented GUI re-arrangement and also to refine the image processing algorithms.
Detailed change log for 2.4beta1:

Towards RawTherapee v2.4 - The First Milestone

First of all thank you for the feedback and bug reports, RT is improved with every little piece of information. The RT DevTeam would like to encourage everyone: help us this way in the future, too. Our forum is open to all of you!The development of RawTherapee v2.4 has reached the first milestone. The features below are implemented already:

Full EXIF support: The long-waited feature is here, RawTherapee is able to import EXIF data from RAWs and export to the output image formats, including TIFF. RT supports Makernotes, and standards compliance is improved.
EXIF Browser: Browse, edit, delete the original EXIF tags. The possibility to record additional tags (like author, copyright and comment) is also available.
IPTC tag support
More input ICC profile options
A new highlight recovery method ("CIELab Blending"), that promises better recovery of color information
Histogram now corresponds to cropped area
Runtime theme switching: The look ("skin") of RT can be changed, and you don't even need to restart the program. RT will be packed with new themes, too.
Lots of other minor (and not-so-minor) tweaks: bugfixes, eye-candy, some new GUI icons, performance improvements, etc...

Good work needs time, so we don't want to stick to any deadline, but the next version is released soon. Stay tuned!

Explanation about 'Development snapshot' Releases:
This release is not a final product, it is something between a 'Developer Snapshot', a 'Milestone Release', a 'Beta Version' and a 'Release Candidate'. Therefore it could contain features that are not yet completely implemented and could also contain some more bugs as a STABLE release.
The idea behind this Releases is to give users a first idea about the features and get first feedback from the users about still existing bugs in the product.
Requirements:

a fast processor with SSE support is recommended (but not required)
at least 512 MB of RAM.
Windows version: Windows 2000, XP or Vista (32bit) is required
for the linux version: gtk+ 2.12 series required

Download:

Windows version can be downloaded here here (SSE support).
