Which version to get?

  • For everyday use, get the latest "fast" build.
  • If you find a bug, get the latest "debug" build and see how to write useful bug reports. Debug builds are slow but provide more useful information when things go bad.
  • Use a 64-bit version if your computer supports 64-bit. Most modern computers do. The easiest way to find out whether yours does is to just download a 64-bit build and give it a try.
  • If your computer is old and supports only 32-bit versions, make sure you read the short guide on memory management to learn how to avoid running out of memory.
